In the context of tertiary prevention, cardiac and vascular rehabilitation is considered the most effective means of reducing mortality, morbidity, and disability among patients with coronary artery disease - and, more broadly, among those with cardiovascular conditions. Through exercise training, stress management, and therapeutic education, physical therapists and members of the rehabilitation team contribute to a holistic approach to patient care in specialized centers where interdisciplinarity is the cornerstone of the rehabilitation provided.
